A member
of the House of Representatives, Oladipupo Adebutu, (Ikene/Sagamu/Remo North
Federal Constituency) has described the death of former Minister for Transport,
Chief Ojo Madueke as a great loss to the nation.
In his
condolence message on the passing on of the great politician and former
National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Adebutu said the late Chief
Madueke had served the nation in various capacities including as Minister for
Foreign Affairs as well as Culture and Tourism, where he acquired himself
greatly as a patriot.
He
described the former Deputy Director of the Jonathan/Sambo Presidential
Campaign in 2011 as a loyal party man whose contribution to the growth of
democracy in Nigeria is immeasurable.
“Nigerians,
and especially members of the Peoples Democratic Party will greatly miss the
invaluable contribution of Chief Madueke who was one of the few remaining elder
statesmen the party is looking up to as it navigates towards returning to power
in 2019”.
Adebutu,
however, expressed his condolence to members of his immediate family, Nigeria
as a whole and his PDP political family at the sudden demise of the late
politician, praying that God should grant him eternal rest, and also grant his
family the needed courage to bear this unavoidable loss.
