She had publically battled drink and drugs for years before her death.

Earlier this year, he criticised a film made about the singer’s life labelling it a “sham”.

Speaking after the acclaimed film Amy won the Oscar for best documentary feature, he said: "It's gratifying to know that people still love Amy, and they love her music, and they love her as a person.

“But the anger around the film hasn't abated."

Amy was married to on-off partner Blake Fielder who was criticised over her death

Mr Winehouse said the film left out positive aspects of his daughter's life including her clothes designing and charity work, adding: "It's just a very negative image and portrayal of Amy and her family."

The singer, who would have turned 33 this September, was immortalised with a life-size bronze statue in Camden on what would have been her 31st birthday.
