Made Men
Music label boss, Ubi Franklin has come out to confirm that Iyanya is branching
out to form his own music label.
Contrary to the to gist making rounds that
there was a problem between the duo, the label boss has said it was a mutual
agreement and assert that Iyanya has his blessing to form his own label.
Iyanya approached me about a year ago and notified me of his intentions to start up a
label, and that he wanted my blessings to do so and i told him it was a welcome
development. I assured him of my support to help him structure his planned
label with the existing label (MMMG) whenever he was ready and the process was
initiated.
“Yes, Iyanya is starting a new label which will be a company out of
Made Men Music with a different structure and a different focus, aiming at
growing our industry”, the Triple MG boss, Ubi Franklin stated in a detailed
post on his Instagram page on Thursday. Earlier this week, news made the rounds
that Triple MG leading act, Iyanya Mbuk, was in a cold war with his label boss,
Ubi Franklin, and that he was set to quit the label to float his own.
It was
rumoured that Iyanya has been at loggerheads with Ubi over his marriage to
Nollywood actress, Lillian Esoro, funds mismanagement, clash of decisions and
incessant in-house fighting, stemming from series of disagreements on the
smooth running and financial management of the label which is co-owned by
Iyanya.
